  This review may not be about the Jackson Hewitt Tax service in Visalia, California. It is, however, a review of whomever orchestrates outreach to interested (prospective) tax prep students in our area, for the 2017 tax season. Recently, I responded to a Visalia Craigslist ad for tax preparation courses. I replied and was called by a woman by the name of Deborah who said she was with Jackson Hewitt. She told me that Jackson Hewitt was offering free, online tax prep classes. Thats amazing! I wanted to do it! Free education! But wow...to my dismay, Deborah was rude, snobby and acted repulsed that she had to repeat herself when I couldn't hear her. I'm somewhat hearing deficient but extremely bright. I'm never unkind, unhelpful nor unwilling to be amicable towards others. My phone etiquette is great, as I was raised in a circle of attorneys and social service outreach workers. I tried being patient as she darted off about the class being available then something about how great the instructor was that I'd be getting so I again gave her the benefit of ignoring her first snobby, rude responses towards my requests for her to repeat herself. But each of the 3 times I had to ask, she repeatedly acted disgusted with that snobby "valley girl" tone on her long, drawn out "Uhhh...." then the sarcastic emphasis on the answer suggesting I was stupid or unwilling. Finally, we got to the initiating the signing up and she asked for my home address. I asked her what she needed it for and she rudely replied "Uhh...your a potential employee". Sad to say, but thats extremely shady behavior for a professional nationwide tax service rep. While this may not reflect on the attitude of all of Jackson Hewitt employees, it sure does violate my ADA rights as a disabled person when she refuses to accommodate a simple need to hear, and fully understand. Fortunately, H and R Block are also offering free tax prep courses and the rep was excellent on the phone, PLUS they offered a LOCAL classroom. I won't be learning from, nor doing taxes for Jackson Hewitt due to lack of access for disabled people which, frankly, seems like their loss, since I may have trouble hearing at times, or going fast through the important informative parts, but I'm BRILLIANT. And now ill be doing taxes for H and R Block this year, instead.

  The senior tax preparer was awesome. the guy named Robert that worked didn't know what he was doing.
